Homeschool Activity: Summer Reading List : Ideas for Women Home ...

Encourage your children to spend a little time reading this summer. A quick and easy way to do this is to create a Summer Reading list. I am not talking about a list of 100 books, keep it simple by having a list of 10-20 books. Something that is easily manageable for your children based on their age and reading skills. In order to make it more fun include a few books that are purely for fun. No one wants to read the same boring stuff all the time so throw in a few things that will spark their imagination and have them asking questions.

If you are doing year round school having them write a book report or do an oral report both are good options. You can always get creative as well. Have fun with it and make sure that your children have fun with it as well.? Our Summer Reading List currently includes A Tale of Two Cities as well as the entire Harry Potter series. The kids get to pick and choose what they want to read and for every book on the list they read they earn points which can be cashed in for prizes.
